The Jewish Quarter, one of the four Quarters of Jerusalem’s Old City, rests on the eastern slopes of Mount Zion and faces the Western Wall. It invites us to behold Jerusalem through all the periods of its history.
The Jewish Quarter contains various sites at which we can hear and feel Jerusalem’s past and present. We can enter houses, stroll down streets, meet people and hear their stories of the neighborhoods and people of Jerusalem that once walked through the very same places we will visit. These include courtyards, synagogues, archaeological sites and remnants from the past. All these together give us an opportunity to look back at Jerusalem’s rich and impressive history.
