Professional ski & snowboard tuition with native English instructors guaranteeing maximum levels of progression whether it be your first time on the snow or if you are looking at pushing yourself further to more advanced techniques. For children the resort crèche facility caters for younger children from 4 months to 8 years*. It has a maximum capacity of 25 children so pre-booking is recommended particularly during high season periods. Conveniently located at the bottom of the steps just right of the ramp into the base of the Al-Andalus gondola.
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is well known for its lively night scene, especially during high and mid-season. After your ski day, the Pradollano Plaza area hosts a good selection of typical Spanish Tapas bars that get extremely lively between 5 and 8pm, after which people drift off to have dinner/siesta before heading out later on to the night bars. Being a very Spanish environment, you don´t go out until 11pm at the very earliest!
Intersport Rio Sport has two shops in the Sierra Nevada ski resort. Their main rental store is located in the Plaza de Andalucía, close to the Al-Andalus Gondola entrance, and their other is located in Plaza de Pradollano, near the Parador chairlift. Here is not only the latest equipment, but the management staff pride themselves on keeping it regularly maintained whilst offering a professional service.
In “Plaza de Andalucia”, the central square of the Sierra Nevada ski resort, with the sign “TAQUILLAS”. You must buy your lift pass before using any lifts. Open 08.00 – 16.30 every day. On Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays from 17.00 – 20.30 you can buy lift pass(es) for the next day. Pre-booking your pass can save you time, hassle and queueing which could ultimately delay you significantly in getting onto the slopes!
With plenty of ski related shops dotted around the village you can find some great deals on quality ski and snow boarding equipment and clothing. There are souvenir shops, general convenience stores and supermarkets, a pharmacy, a hairdressers and a photographic shop. Numerous restaurants are to be found all over the village including higher up into the mid and upper zones too. A variety of tastes are catered for from traditional Spanish and Italian to Alpine Fondues and Raclette cuisine.
The resort offers a shuttle service via minibus that runs a continual circuit between the Pradollano square and the “Peñones” carpark at the top of the ski village. There are three main parking areas in the Sierra Nevada ski resort:
To avoid paying anything, try driving down through the village towards the mid-zone where the intermediate stop of the Parador chairlift is. Street parking is free in most areas around here.
