Beautiful Catholic churches of Santa Maria del Naranco and San Miguel de Lillo, are located on the southern slope of Mount Naranco Oviedo, four kilometers from the city center. Originally, Santa Maria, is not projected as a church, but was the Aula Regia of the palace complex that King Ramiro I had built on the outskirts of the capital in the year 842.
