Sancha Pérez Bodega Almazara, Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz

Sancha Pérez is a family farm that bets on the agro-alimentary transformation of two millennial crops: the olive tree and the vine, which played an important role in the economy of our villages in the 17th and 19th centuries.

This tourist complex combines the agri-food activity with the leisure and enjoyment of the visitors, being a center of interest in which you can know the secrets of the artisan and ecological production of wine and oil.

We are committed to producing high quality wines , mainly of the varieties Petit Verdot and Tintilla de Rota; We also have other varieties: Tempranillo, Merlot, Syrah and Pinot Noir and the white varieties Sauvignon Blanc and Albariño.

In Sancha Pérez we have recovered the Tintilla de Rota , an autochthonous variety well adapted to the environment, which was the pillar of the economy in centuries past and was called Tinta Mencida. In 1804, said the illustrated Rojas Clemente in his Essay on the varieties that vegetate in Andalusia, that the “Tintilla was cultivated in Conil, Tarifa and Vejer receiving other names like Tinto, Ink, Alicante, Tinta Mencida”.

August Vintage Expereince

Another year comes the harvest time to Sancha Pérez, a key moment for our winery in which we collect the grapes that we have been seeing grow throughout the year. This year, ahead of Tempranillo, we start with Pinot Noir and, after this, the Tempranillo and the rest of the 9 varieties that we have on the farm. These are the most important weeks for our winery , and we want to also be an enjoyment for all our visitors.

During all these days of vintage you can continue visiting the farm as before, but also if you want you can see and participate in the work that takes place in the field and in the winery throughout the campaign. You can also taste the varieties that are ready to pick, as well as other fruits of the estate: the muscatel grape, the figs …

We want to convey to all who visit us the importance of the vintage for us. The collection of the grapes we have seen grow during these months and their preparation to be vinified. Only from within can you really know the process of winemaking, do you want to participate? We wait for you!
