Malaga Flamenco festival Cante Grande de Casabermeja Annually  |  July 2018

In the month of July, there is Casabermeja Flamenco Festival  is recognised as a National Tourist Event Flamenco festival acknowledged as the oldest and one of the most important flamenco shows in Andalucia.

The festival – which was first held in 1969 – has hosted artists such as Camarón, José Menese and José Mercé, among others. This year the festival will play host to an array of flamenco stars such as El Torta, Antonio Reyes, Mari Peña, Laura Vital and Luisa Palicio, bringing together performers from all over Andalucia. Organised by Casabermeja town hall, the show starts on the night of 24 July at 11pm in the Polideportivo (sports centre)

The festival has also recently been declared of provincial tourist interest with around 1,000 people attending every year. The Gypsy infused dance has its roots in a number of cultures, with Flemish and South American influences cited as well as Arabic.
