King’s Bastion Leisure Centre, Gibraltar
When the King’s Bastion was built, it was the most important defensive position in the Rock’s westerly defences. Its form was based on the tradition of bastion fortification, a large arrow headed construction, projecting from the curtain wall. A military fortress that was once used to defend Gibraltar against invading forces during the 18th century, this historical building was transformed in 2008 into the prestigious King’s Bastion Leisure Centre. There’s plenty to keep you entertained including an Ice Skating Rink, two Cinemas, Bowling Lanes, an Amusement Arcade as well as Restaurants and Bars and a Fitness Gym. Visit Gibraltar.
