Genalguacil White Villiage, Málaga, Spain
Genalguacil is a small and intimate village in the heart of the Genal valley. Romantically surrounded by leafy lush green woods. Indeed ninety percent of the village is today forests. This stunning location is one of the most iconic white villages in the region.
One of the highlights for any visitor is Los Reales de Sierra Bermeja Natural Area, this is a popular attraction in itself for active walkers and adventurer. The town today has kept is Moorish layout: steep streets, whitewashed houses and colourful flower beds inviting to explore all the nooks and crannies of this village in Serranía de Ronda. The results of the Genalguacil Art Encounters can be seen in many street sculptures and murals.
This is one white Andalucian mountain village that art lovers do not miss. Annually during the first two weeks in August there is an art festival “Los Encuentros de Arte del Valle del Genal” and prize winning works of art are showcased in a public display. The narrow streets and charming plazas is the perfect location for romantics and adventurers alike.
