Fuengirola International People’s Fair Food Festival 27 April – 1 May 2018
A meeting the culture, dance and gastronomy. The 24th edition of the International People’s Fair in Fuengirola will take place from Friday 27 April until Tuesday 1st of May There will be representations of more than 30 different countries; among those countries you will be able to find stands from Italy, Senegal, United States and some Spanish regions like Navarra or Canary Islands among many others. This year featuring the new stands of Puerto Rico, South Africa and Ukraine
The city of Fuengirola is not only one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Costa del Sol, but also has a large number of foreign residents from all corners of the world. With the intention of making known the customs and traditions of the inhabitants of this multicultural city, this event was born in 1994 and over the years has become one of the most popular and colourful events, both regionally and nationally with almost one million visitors. In addition to common activities such as the parade of participants, each country has its own program of activities that offers concerts and free dance shows, craft markets and of course the typical cuisine.
The International fair is held in the recinto ferial in Fuengirola, site of the open market on Tuesdays and boot sale on Saturdays. The fair starts on Friday 28th April and runs until Monday 1st May, the attractions and casetas open at 1pm and close at 4am each day. Yes, 15 hours each day! The official procession is on Saturday 29th April at 12.00h starting at the Fuengirola Town Hall and heading to the fairground, and all afternoon there will be music and dancing in the streets of the fairground.
