Together with the Rio Guadaíra is the cream of the city. It is located on a promontory of sufficient height to visually dominate its surroundings, in the same place where previously there were already human settlements of the Bronze Age. Its construction takes place under Muslim domination, in centuries XII and XII, although after the reconquest by Fernando III is when it acquires its definitive configuration, being realized works of scale until the end of the XV century and beginnings of the XVI. In 1924 it was declared a Monument of Historical-Artistic Interest, and in 1985 it was cataloged as a Cultural Interest. Visit Spain. Epic Spain Route © Monika Newbound
