Botánico Atlantico Garden, Gijón, Asturias, Spain
The idea of creating a botanical garden in Gijon is a project contemplated by the City Council from the final years of the last century. After several years of work, was able to raise the funds (provided by the European Union, Asturias and Gijón City Council), and land (about 25 hectares), the EGD (Scheme Global Director) was developed, and in April 2003, opened the first phase of the garden, almost 16 hectares of collections and areas of high interest.Visit Spain.
