Dive into the sherry wine culture Bodegas Lustau was founded in 1896 by Don José Ruiz-Berdejo. It was a modest beginning: Don José, judicial secretary, cultivated the vines in his farm Our Lady of Hope. In the house of the vineyard he raised the wines he later sold to the large export wineries. He was a storekeeper.
in the 1970s the company continued to expand. From the 80’s, and under the direction of Rafael Balao , he became one of the most innovative companies in Jerez. Balao sensed that Lustau had to be at the forefront of quality. His ideas of combining tradition and innovation paved the way for Lustau today to identify with quality and prestige
