Playa del Cabanyal, València, Valencia
This emblematic beach, which takes its name from the adjacent district, extends from the hotel “Las Arenas”, in the south, to the hospital to the north. Old fishermen’s quarter, its name (Cabañal, hut) reminds us how simple life of its former inhabitants was: the sea, the vegetable plains and a makeshift house. On this large beach, equipped with multiple services, coexist with Erasmus students, young Valencians and families from the neighborhood. Its volleyball courts are frequented all year long, as well as its promenade and its nightclubs, high places of the summer nightlife. It is necessary to emphasize the importance of the tradition of the Holy Maritime Week, with its procession during which a statue is transported to the edge of sea, before the stupefied eyes bathers.
