San Isidro Festival Madrid | May 2018
Madrid’s main annual festival is San Isidro on May 15th which includes nine days of celebrations as well as the start of the capital’s bullfighting season.San Isidro the patron saint of Madrid and the public holiday which coincides with this festival is on 15th May although events take place from the Friday before when the Mayor’s speech commences proceedings and continue until the following Sunday with the cooking of a crowd-pleasing giant Cocido Madrileño (Madrid’s most traditional dish).
San Isidro marks the start of the capital’s season of the world’s largest Bull fighting event which attracts all the top bullfighters and, breeders of bulls. The venue for Bullfighting is Las Ventas Madrid and it sells out every night so book well in advance.
